White Wines

We believe the Chehalem Mountains AVA, and especially Laurelwood soils, produce excellent quality in white wines with a lovely freshness, balanced acidity and plenty of fruit flavors to please the palate.

We take a small amount from a self-rooted, 25-30 year old block of Dion Vineyard Pinot Gris, press the juice gently, then ferment in stainless steel slowly.  We pull off a juice reserve to add back in to the finish for rounding out the fruit flavors and giving the wine a nice mouthfeel.

Our Estate Chardonnay is sourced from the rows of 76 clone, planted in 1994, that surround the winery.  We pick for acidity, ferment and age in oak, but are looking for a balanced wine in flavor and profile.  Classic Oregon.

We have an acre and a half of Viognier planted at Dion Vineyard, a wine normally grown in the warmth of the South of France, but we find that it does get ripe here in the Willamette Valley (admittedly later than most of the vineyard), and we picked it last, pressed it off, and fermented slowly in 100% stainless slow.  Slightly off-dry finish.
